Can anyone point to or share an.ins file for PA600? For use with DAWs. Even a base file, or one from the PA family which is close, which I can then build on would be great.
How to Write a Sonar Instrument Definition.ins file. And drum maps and more, but I decided to keep it simple as most of us just want the bloody patchnames in!

I can use this as a base for PA600. I am also going to try extracting the info from the pdf manual and transform it to the format, I can see in your file. It looks pretty good. Though I have not tested it. There is a tones and a drum kit file.
You can download from my shared area link below or directly from their website. Part 2: I have also pulled most of the data from the Korg PA600 2.1 Manual and created a raw text file for machine transformation and real time processing.
I have not added the drum kit assignments in this yet. Please feel free to download and use it anyway you like it, especially, if you are planning to do any MIDI automation (from DAW, Pads etc.). Instrument Definition Files - Cakewalk Sonar INS Files As this topic seems to come up fairly regularly and having several hardware synths, which I've either had to fish the net for defs or create my own, and in view of the fact that some online resources which older posts refer to, have now gone like the Cakewalk Net site, I thought I'd summarise some of the current ones which are left and also create a post with a title which should pop-up straightaway when searching the forum, which I hope comes across as helpful to people. Firstly I'd suggest looking at this KB Article because it has links to a couple of INS file archives: Secondly you could look here because there's another INS file archive here: Thirdly there's a free program which will generate INS files for a number of synths here: Fourthly there's the very comprehensive Cakewalk INS Tutorial here: Fifthly there are some great examples and further instructions on how to make your own defs here: And last but NOT least, there's Craig Anderton's excellent article at SOS here: Hope that helps.:-) Anyone like to add other good resources or INS archives?
