Downlaod the hatch, put it in the support folder where the other hatches are. Open autocad and draw an object (maybe a 3.5' wide by 3' tall rectangle). Go to the hatch command, when it comes up there is a section in the top lefthand area called 'type and pattern'. There are some dropdown menus here; type, pattern, swatch and custom pattern. I have always had trouble with linetypes scaling between model and paper. In paper type psltscale and change the value to 1 this should then help with the scaling of the linetype in paperspace. Best to press the F1 key and type PSLTSCALE in and get a better explaination.

As per the overlapping, can't you just break the line either side. Hatching intricate areas. Best way is to draw a polyline around the object and then hit the hatch icon and choose select objects and pick the polyline. Hope that helps.

Tried searching and specifying I want a.pat file, but got to no hits. Otherwise, where in the MasterFomat 04 could I find any available pattern files. Alternatively, any hits or links to places where I could get fill pattern files for revit would be muchly appreciate. I also know that it is possible to get an AutoCAD pattern and use it in Revit, but am not really sure how to do that.

Sadly, I couldn't find a ridig insulation pattern in there either probably because it is impossible to be made as a pattern. I know that I can always do it as a detail component as a zig zag line, but would really like to have it as pattern as well since sometimes my insulation, at roofs for example, would be wedge cut.
